14 Days of Prayer Part 2: Day 14

Good Morning Sisters,
Praise Him!!! Praise His Holy Name!!! The Lord has heard our requests, now it’s time to PRAISE Him! We’re going into the next dimension of praise together. I really LOVED the rich Word of truth that Karen shared last night about the importance of praise. The Spirit of God flowed through her so beautifully.
She opened the night with Psalm 150…
Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
Praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Psalm 150 is the last psalm of the Book of Psalms. It’s only 6 verses and it’s ALL about PRAISE!
As Karen continued to seek God’s heart about praise He led her to look at Jeremiah 20:13 (NT)…”Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord. He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked.”
And then she started wondering “I wonder what’s in the middle of the Bible”? What does God talk about smack dab in the middle of the Bible? The scripture is Psalm 103:2 …”Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Again, it’s ALL ABOUT PRAISE! So much our lives are spent in the “middle” of something...the middle of a crisis, the middle of a problem. Just like Paul and Silas we can PRAISE our way out of the pit.
Karen was then led to see what the New Testament says about praise. Romans 12:1-2 says “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
We can conclude from all of these scriptures that praise does not come naturally to us because we, by our carnal nature, are selfish beings. The truest form of worship is when we offer ourselves as living sacrifices; when we offer our whole heart, will, mind and emotions to the Lord (body, soul and spirit).
What does Jesus say specifically about Praise?
In Psalm 100 Jesus says “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.It is he who made us, and we are his
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
We come into His presence through singing. If you want Him to be present start singing. We enter His presence with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. James 3:10 says “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”
God wants us to be THANKFUL people, not a complaining people. Even in the worst of circumstances there is always something to be thankful for. As Karen said… “we should have a regular gratitude check.”
When we praise we’re not looking at our circumstances. As Ashley says we praise in the “presence of”. Praise is our weapon. We praise BEFORE we see the breakthrough. We praise because HE IS GOOD. WE PRAISE because HE is worthy of our praise! When you feel discouraged read these verses. Meditate on them. Mutter them out loud until they get deep down into your heart.
Ephesians 3:20:21 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
