14 Days of Praise and Worship: Day 14

Updated: May 4, 2020

Good Morning Sisters,

WOW!!! Victoria led praise last night (she and Elaine switched nights) and there are simply NO WORDS to capture the beauty of her message. She talked about what it means to be God’s BELOVED and her journey to it becoming her favorite word. She says that when He speaks to her He calls her His BELOVED… a word that means to be loved dearly; has purity, beauty and grace attached to its meaning. It’s not comfortable being called this word when we don’t believe it about ourselves. I loved it when she said “When we’re in the slimy pit He calls us His beloved” (Psalm 27). His deep, unconditional and unrelenting love for us is hard for our human minds to conceive. His love surpasses knowledge. It's what gives us the desire to know Him more. It's the key to our freedom. This is why we must make it a daily habit to speak our affirmations each day, especially on those days we are not “feeling” like His beloved. There was one disciple in the Bible who KNEW He was loved by Jesus. He was the one that the enemy could not destroy. He was the one who was with Jesus until the end. The apostle John was called the “disciple whom Jesus loved.” Who called Him that? HE DID! Those who are loved love best. This is why John loved Jesus the most. He was the disciple who was most conscious of Jesus’ love for him. He was unaware that he was loving Jesus the most, of all the disciples. He was only aware that the Lord loves him.  Most people spend their whole lives trying to prove their worth, trying to prove their value, trying to prove that they are worthy of being loved. When you are a child of God you don’t have to prove anything. You already have His love! Stop trying to get something you already got! As Amanda said “we are deeply significant and secure” What is driving your heart? Do you believe you are God’s beloved?

You see, it’s not about your love for God but His love for you. You can’t love him perfectly and the good news is you don’t have to. Human love cannot be perfect. His love for you is perfect.  God called Jesus “My beloved son, in you I am well pleased.” Embrace God’s love for YOU! Relish it, receive it, treasure it, feed on it, enjoy it, and drink it in!

Even when you don’t feel it BELIEVE in the love God has for you! When we believe we are loved it empowers us to go out and fight to win the battles of life! When the enemy was tempting Jesus in the desert he left out one word and that word “beloved” and replaced it with “if you are the Son of God.” The enemy did not want Jesus to be conscious of God’s love for him as he knew that His power was in that. It is counterproductive for the devil to remind you that you are loved. Temptation cannot succeed against you when you know you are the one Jesus loves!

One of the best songs you can sing in the shower, on your way to work, when you’re feeling down is “Jesus loves Me”. It is only when we know how loved we are by Jesus that we can pour out that love to others. Spend some time with Jesus today meditating on His love for you. You are His beloved daughter in whom He is well pleased. Our 21 Days of Praise and Fellowship starts tomorrow, Monday, May 4th. Please reach out to at least 2 people and invite them. We have a special treat we are going to open up with.
